This 4-day hands on course is ideal for anyone who is interested in learning the science of latent fingerprint comparisons. Each topic is accompanied by practical exercises to reinforce the learned concepts. Students will learn the history of fingerprints, biology of friction ridge skin, 3-levels of detail, major pattern types, the ACE-V process of fingerprint comparison and GYRO method of marking minutiae. The week will finish with discussion on court testimony and notable court cases involving fingerprint evidence.
